The Cons of AI
The Cons of AI
The cons of AI heavily outweigh the pros in my opinion, being that students get too heavily reliant on it, so here are some of the cons of AI.
Job Displacement and Economic Inequality
I think what students fail to realize is that the more they boost AI, the more advanced it is going to get, and eventually, they are going to drive themselves out of jobs. Certain jobs that have very routine and predictable tasks are at most risk of losing jobs, such as factory workers, cashiers, drivers, and even white-collar workers like paralegals and financial analysts. Even though I think this is a future concern, I think with the path we are on now, it’s definitely becoming a concern that's more present.

Dependence and Technological Addiction
I think this topic is a really big one, being that the more reliant we become on AI, we are losing our ability as humans to do things on our own or learn new skills on our own. I think that the way students have started to use AI in years to come, they are going to know nothing else but AI, and it’s going to completely take over human ability. The use of AI in finding directions completely takes away the human sense of direction because we are so reliant on our maps to get us there. I also think it weakens writing skills when we just have AI write everything.

Education and Reskilling
It comes to a point in the evolution of AI where you get so caught up in the easy life. If that were to ever crash, people would have to relearn how to do things. You also have to teach yourself how to use AI. And when you focus all your time on taking the easy way out and not actually learning anything, when you get to college, it’s not all AI. Like in most high schools, it’s a lot more actual learning. The way AI has taken over every aspect of how people complete tasks isn't something that is good for this generation. It lowers IQ'S because you are using less brain. Your basic skills like math, writing, etc., go down more than you could even imagine because you aren't actually learning it anymore.
These reasons are some of the most important parts of life, and AI is single-handedly taking that away from us. This is why I think AI use should be cut, if not completely cut, by the education system because it is not good for this generation and it will be even worse for generations to come.
